The importance of Attendance

At Bushey Meads we are committed to ensuring every student has the best chances of securing outstanding grades. One major factor in attaining good grades is attendance (please see above graph). Good attendance significantly improves students chances of achieving well.

Students should aim to have at least 97% attendance. 90% attendance over a school year is the equivalent to missing 4 whole weeks of school. That’s 20 days of missed learning opportunities, which equals over 100 hours of missed learning and progress!

We aim to work closely with parents and carers to ensure that students attendance is good and stays at 97% or above.
