Stimulating History Lesson!

It was great to join Mr Dowty’s Year 8 History lesson on Thursday of this week as the students explored what life was like for black americans after slavery – a hugely important topic that generated much discussion and student contributions to the well planned lesson. I was really impressed with the excellent group work, high engagement throughout and the care and pride that most students were taking with their work (Emma’s work pictured here is just one example of many I could have chosen). A well planned plenary and exit strategy at the end of the lesson captured the progress and learning of all the students – a great way to end a very stimulating lesson at BMS!
