Introducing our fantastic new Music teacher Mr Gray!
I have recently joined Bushey Meads School where I am currently working with the fantastic Miss Brown who is soon to go on maternity leave. We aim to ensure that nothing is disrupted in the run up to exams, coursework deadlines and recitals across all classes. If you have any queries about this then please do contact the school or music department.
I am an experienced teacher, and was at Roundwood Park school in Harpenden for 7 years where I was Head of Department and Associate Assistant Headteacher. The department was graded as outstanding and was regularly in the top 10% of music departments nationally for our GCSE results. For the last year I have been working for the Chartered College of Teaching running national INSET for teachers and writing articles and research on education. Before becoming a teacher I worked for Abbey Road and Sony Music recording studios and I was a guitarist.
I am very excited about the challenge of working in a new school and, having met the students and staff, I feel very welcome and supported. I look forward to working with the children of Bushey Meads to help maintain the vibrant and inclusive nature of both the school and music department.
Christmas Concert and Extra-Curricular Music
We are delighted to announce that tickets for the Bushey Meads Christmas concert on 10th December 2019 will be on sale at the end of November, please check Eventbrite for their release. This is an opportunity to really support the students and music department and for us to showcase what we have been working on. Everyone has worked incredibly hard towards making this a successful evening and we would love to have your support.
We will be providing refreshments during the evening so get your tickets early to avoid disappointment. If your child is part of an ensemble or involved in the concert in another way, then please support us by ensuring they are attending rehearsals regularly. Please see the updated extra-curricular timetable for times and locations of all our ensembles.
