To replace the annual school Sports Day this half term we have launched a KS3 Inter House Sport and Fitness competition to inspire students to do as much exercise as possible during the break from school.
Every time students complete a walk, run, bike ride or workout they will score points for their House. Points are scored as follows :
(All above must be evidenced by picture/screenshot of fitness app/tracker etc)
To gain the points for running, cycling and walking students must show evidence by using a tracking app (eg MapMyRun, MapmyRide, Strava etc). Students then upload a picture of the completed run, walk, ride into the google classroom for the points to score. For the HIIT workouts and sports specific training sessions students send a picture/video to their PE teacher to evidence them doing it. All points are then tallied up to give us the individual, CDC and overall House Winners.
We will also be including Bonus Challenges over the next few weeks where students can score additional points
Students also have to continue to log all the physical activity they do using the EXERCISE TRACKER google document. In addition points are being awarded for all completed PE SAM Learning tasks.
The first week of the competition has already seen some great evidence of students continuing to exercise and play sport whilst away from school. Current leaders overall are WILLOW House with the competition running for 6 weeks before the overall winners are announced.
