The Year 13 Food Science and Nutrition class recently completed an online course in Level 2 Food Safety and Preparation by Virtual College. This means that, if I chose to work in the catering industry, I would stand out. The course consisted of 9 modules, each with subjects such as food poisoning, food law and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). At the end of each module, there was a 3 question test to remember what you had learnt in that lesson. At the end of the course, there is a 30 question assessment with a 75% pass mark. All of the students in the class passed the test. Personally, I found the course interesting as there were some things I learnt that I didn’t know about.
