Art Taster Day
Year 11 students completed a workshop, painting a winter landscape, inspired by the work of artist Anita Reynolds. In less than an hour students completed two charcoal drawing studies from a photo they had taken themselves of a winter landscape. They then choose their favourite composition and completed a semi abstract expressive piece, capturing the eerie, peaceful and sublime beauty of nature.
It was a refreshing insight into the standards of A-Level FIne Art and it gave me a deeper insight into learning about the values of analysing an artist’s work and taking forward those techniques and inspiration into my own work. Overall, it was a welcoming introduction to Art in further education‘ Aiden Appleby year 11 student.
