Web Design in Year 8

Hello. My name is Yash Mehta and I am from 8 Beech. This term in Technology, I have been making a website about books. I found this topic really interesting because making a website would be a key factor for anybody’s future careers. The website is about Books for sale and Books in general; Bestselling books, Best Authors and many more with the purpose of people visiting this website leaving with the most enjoyable, thriller-packed book of all time.

I made my website using the help of Wix.com. I would recommend using this website to heighten your technological skills as it may even be a way for you to spend time doing something educational. I first start off by looking at the 500 free website templates that Wix provides and find one that I like. I then edit this site personalized for my style hoping for the best. I preview the website as a shopper and end up liking my work. My website was complete and my mind was satisfied with my hard work.

So far this term in Tech we have been learning how to make an appealing website on the software Wix. Wix is an easy and efficient way to make websites – there are many features possible to add to your site such as galleries, online shops, pages and blogs.

The website I have been working on revolves around film, offering a blog that contains the latest news, leaks, photos and more concerning cinema. I called it FilmBiz (like ‘show biz’ but for movies).

As well as the blog, the site also has a forum, an ‘about us’ section and a huge gallery of my favourite films titled ‘FilmBiz’s Definitive Watchlist’.

This module has been really fun because we had the opportunity to be creative with our website and to do it about what we were interested in.

Card Modelling in Year 10

Year 10 students in GCSE Electronics were set the challenge of improving their accuracy when making product models.

These students showed flair as they were required to calculate dimensions that allowed for material thickness and then demonstrate precision when cutting and gluing.

Great work from Aman in year 9 working on his electronics project. Throughout this term he has shown initiative, resilience and determination to complete the design and make of an electronic keyboard. He also found the time to help other students with their work. A really awesome performance.
