Hola!

During this half term, students have learnt Spanish from the cultural perspective, we travelled “mentally” to Spain to visit Barcelona and to taste paella, the most famous Spanish dish!

Many students participated in a voluntary KS3 Treasure Hunt in Barcelona Competition, sending very creative, well-researched and colourful PowerPoints. KS3 students researched about Barcelona’s ancient Roman name, Barcino, what to do in La Barceloneta, the FC Barcelona stadium’s capacity, the high speed AVE train between Madrid and Barcelona, the ramblas’ names, La Sagrada Familia and Gaudi’s architecture and of course about the delicious gastronomy.

The Paella (pah-eh-yah) activity was a family activity designed to discover and to cook step by step this delicious dish at home, while listening Spanish pasodobles and Spanish radio stations. ¡Qué rico!

Because learning a language is much more than just words and grammar!
