Today, ten Bushey Meads students took part in an amazing MFL/PE trip to Arsenal’s training ground in London Colney where we combined language learning with football to celebrate the European day of Languages. Arsenal also invited four local primary schools and we were the only secondary school there!
At the start of the day we learnt why it is so important to speak other languages. The main focus of the day was to take part in French and Spanish themed language activities and then help the primary school students. We even learnt some German football vocabulary!
The best part of the day was coaching the primary school children in a mini-tournament. Our job was to coach them from the sidelines in French and Spanish!
Lastly, we were very lucky to have the chance to meet Danielle Carter who plays as a forward for Arsenal ‘s ladies team and also the English national team.
It was a great day out and hopefully Arsenal will invite us to more language days!
