Brilliant Bread Making!
It was a privilege to join Mrs Hanbury’s Year 9 Food Technology class on Monday of this week and watch them develop their theoretical knowledge and practical skills involved in bread making – this week developing the concept of flavoured bread rolls. The students were extremely well behaved and fully engaged throughout the lesson, setting clear targets at the start of the process to ensure very good progress. They worked effectively in pairs to support high achievement, actively participated in class discussions and well directed question and answer sessions and, at the end of the very positive lesson, carefully reviewed their work using a specially designed self assessment worksheet resource.
I was very impressed with how the carefully designed lesson fitted within a well planned scheme of learning – next week they get to sample each other’s rolls, quality assuring and peer assessing the final products.
