Students delivering a Friday Faculty Focus...

The staff were treated to a presentation from some of our students on Friday morning during our Friday Faculty Focus meeting, celebrating the More Able Week.

Jhanavi spoke about the science CREST club, delivered by our incredible science technician Maryam Razavi.  She commented on how it helped her to apply her skills to the science practicals in the lessons and encouraged her to think about cross curricular ideas such as environmental issue for example.
Cameron spoke about how Miss Spain’s English lessons engaged him through the use of investigative skills and lots of fun.  He also relayed that his responsibility as an eLearning leader has allowed him to grow in confidence and be able to deliver presentations to staff and assembly groups.
Georgina shared her experiences of being part of the Reach for the Starrs group and that fact that she has grown in strength and pride as a result of the acknowledgement she has received from the programme.
Maya  talked us through a lesson that she delivered to a GCSE Geography class (facilitated by Miss Skevinton).  She said that she would never have been able to speak to the staff in such a public setting if she had not been given opportunities to develop her levels of confidence.  She also relayed that her learning has been heightened by the fact that she is teaching other people and this has aided her own understanding at A’Level.
Megan and Jarrishan spoke about how they are stretched and challenged in maths through targeted work and creative extension activities.
The students were genuinely BRILLIANT and the staff were so proud of them all.  They gave an informative, confident and humerous presentation that was enjoyed by all.
Thank you so very much!
