We take supporting the aspirations and ambitions of our Sixth Form students very seriously at Bushey Meads School, so I was delighted to lead our Next Steps evening for parents, carers and Y12 students on Wednesday evening. It was an important start for the Y12s who have now started the journey, researching and considering their future choices for life after Bushey Meads at the end of Y13.
The Next Steps Event unfortunately had to be virtual, but is available to view on the Sixth Form page of the website, and will remain there for future reference. There are presentations on Apprenticeships, understanding Student Finance and an introduction to the UCAS process, and how to use the excellent Unifrog research tool.
All Y12s are signed up to Unifrog and in CDC time will begin researching courses and ideas as well as being supported in writing personal statements. It is an exciting time for Y12s to widen their horizons and build on the opportunities and strong foundations BMS has given them.
