Paper Tower Challenge
On the last Friday before schools were shutdown for the majority of students, year 11 D&T students were given the challenge of building a paper tower. The towers were judged on height and weight carried. The winners were Shyam and Luke who constructed a tower using only 6 sheets of newspaper and 2m of masking tape. Their tower was 500mm tall and carried 1kg. Can you do better?
HOME ISOLATION CHALLENGE:
Decide on the rules e.g. 6 sheets of newspaper  and 2m of tape. Allow 1hr to build the tower.
Then test using any weighted objects (non-breakable!) e.g. bag of sugar/flour
To judge the winner, you can multiply height x weight to get a final score. Give a prize for the winner!
