It was a privilege to join a Year 7 drama lesson last week and see how focussed and enthusiastic they were with their learning. In small groups they were rehearsing a script based around a powerful courtroom drama. There was plenty of opportunity to include strong emotion, exaggerated physical gestures and good voice projection, as well as carefully considering the stage set and audience dynamic. In 30 minutes they were ready to perform to their peers in the superb setting of our indoor theatre space. They all listened brilliantly to each other’s performances, each one had their own twist on the scripted drama. They then provided excellent feedback about the strengths and areas for development of each performance.
I would like to congratulate all the class for their hard work and passionate application to the subject. They were very impressive learners and I wish them well for their continued studies at BMS.
