We’re back to school and what a great way to start the year!
The Year 11 and Year 13 dance students were given the amazing opportunity to run a few dance lessons at Hartsbourne Primary School during their Circus themed first week back. The Year 1, 2, 5 and 6 students became their own performers and worked incredibly hard to learn challenging choreography inspired by The Greatest Showman.
It was clear to see the sessions were enjoyed by all involved, particularly the GCSE and A Level students. This was evident during the loud and excitable minibus journey on the way there and back to BMS!
By providing the dance students with this opportunity, they have gained teaching skills they may not have experience before, therefore allowing them to gain more confidence in themselves. AQA will be releasing their choreography question paper this week in which they must carefully choreograph a group dance inspired by a given stimulus. They will have to use the skills they have learnt during these teaching sessions when working through their choreography process as they are in charge of teaching others their own choreography.
Well done to all involved!
