What a magical afternoon we had honouring all the newly appointed Student Leaders to the school on Tuesday afternoon. Over 250 students from years 8-13 filled the tiered seating in the hall, eagerly awaiting the ceremony to receive their leadership badges.
The students received a presentation on ‘Leadership Qualities’ and were praised for their successful applications and subsequent appointments.
Our newly appointed Senior Student Leadership Team presented the awards, led by Victoria Woolmer our Head Girl and Rikhil Mehta our Head Boy.
It was a beautiful sight watching the students leave with shiny new badges on their lapel and an extra spring in their step. A proud moment I am sure for them and most definitely for me!
Our new year 7’s will begin their application process next week. The Senior Student Leadership Team will pop in to Character Development Sessions to promote the array of positions available to them. Here is a list to get the thinking process started: Anti-Bullying Ambassador, BMS Buddy, Community Leader, Subject Leader, Reading Buddy, Form Representative, Performing and Visual Arts Technician, STEM Leader, Eco Leader, Student Learning Consultant, Librarian. In the sixth form they can aspire to be a prefect and senior prefect and of course we will certainly have an aspiring Head Girl and Boy among the team too!
I shall look forward to receiving the year 7 applications and well done to all of our current Leaders.
