Y12 Enrichment Trips

Last Friday Year 12 students enjoyed an Enrichment Day with BMS offering them eight very varied activities deigned to widen their horizons. I was delighted to be in charge of 6 Year 12 trips visiting Museums and Galleries to introduce students to the cultural experience and awe offered by some of London’s diverse and popular attractions. Students met at Stanmore tube in the morning and then in groups made their way into London. All students behaved impeccably with staff being praised by Museum and Gallery curators for our Sixth Form student’s excellent behaviour and engagement during their visits. It was a long and tiring day for all, but it was fabulous privilege to see students taking part in school trips and expanding their cultural experience. A few highlights included:

“Visiting Saatchi Gallery was a good, informative experience for the art department as we got an in-depth talk and learnt about a world famous artists journey and looked at his work which was really inspiring. Afterwards we got the opportunity to go explore London and take photos around the area which was quite fun.” Kimberley Ngugi 12 Ash

“As you can see, we all enjoyed ourselves, especially when we got to the dinosaurs! We loved learning new things about our planet.” Natural History Museum – Sophie Edwards 12 Sycamore

“I really enjoyed looking at the variety of art in the museum. The statues were amazing, there was so much to see, it was a good day.” Victoria and Albert Museum – Alina Hussain 12 Elm

“The trip to the Science Museum was really insightful and gave a really interesting perspective on medicine and spacecraft over time. The different exhibits were really capitaviting” Science Museum – Emily Allen 12 Elm
