On Thursday this week, our Year 9 students took part in an arts faculty Enrichment Day where they focused on ‘Careers in the Arts’. They took part in several workshops across the faculty, including dance, drama, art and music.
During their dance workshop, the students had the exciting opportunity to explore and create their own screendance. Screendance is a unique experience which allows students to merge choreography and cinematography. Despite never having participated in a screendance workshop before, the students did exceptionally well and made some wonderful, comical and all round brilliant pieces of work.
I would like to give a massive thanks to all of the members of staff who showed their support, particularly the members of staff who got involved and featured in some of the videos.
Students then had an assembly which opened their eyes to the endless possibilities for careers in the arts. Our fantastic arts faculty shared their own experiences as well as introducing the students to friends and family in the industry. The day was a huge success and students were able to learn, appreciate and enjoy different aspects of the industry.
