The day started with a talk about the transition from year 11 and the different pathways available to everyone; 6th Form, College or Apprenticeships.
We looked at the different entry requirements for courses and the importance of attending open evenings to find out more information.
We were delighted to welcome Charlotte Shaw from First Intuition who spoke about Apprenticeships and how you can continue to gain qualifications as well as earning a salary at the same time and Diana Mcildowie from West Herts College who was able to talk the students through the options available and expectations of further education in a college environment.
It was a great day with all students working extremely hard. Everyone was focused on producing a CV and Personal Statement which reflected their personal skills and attributes.
They were also introduced to a number of helpful websites where they could look at the support that is available to them, local part time vacancies, university courses etc.
All students are offered the opportunity to meet with either Mrs McIldowie or a Connexions Personal Advisor to discuss any concerns or questions they may have over the coming months.
