Vertical Tutoring at BMS

It has been a real privilege to see first hand all students engaging positively in the vertical Character Development Groups created for our annual Vertical Tutoring Fortnight. The new opportunity has provided an experience for students of all ages to work together and discuss and learn from each other.

The ‘experience of years’ through Bushey Meads School being shared by our older students within these vertical groups has definitely strengthened the learning of some of our younger students and also created an even stronger family atmosphere within our great House system which is so valued by staff and students alike.
Students in Elm House’s Vertical Character Development Groups are pictured hear talking together across the different year groups about social media and the role that it can play in developing positive relationships.
Mr Piper’s Sycamore House Assembly on Thursday was typical of the excellent assemblies that have taken place over the last two weeks – very positive enjoyable and a great way to start the day at BMS. There was plenty to think about and take away and apply in our lives.
The quote at the end of his assembly that he shared was actually from a BMS student – a Sycamore Sixth Former:
“We all have relationships with each other, it’s working on them that makes them positive!”
