On Thursday 12 October the main hall was packed with Year 11 students, parents and carers ready to learn different strategies and techniques for revision. Mrs Greenwood, Assistant Headteacher,  opened the event, discussing the timeline of events for Year 11 for the remainder of this year and talking through general revision strategies for Year 11 students, such as

 Ensuring there is a dedicated and organised work space
 Snack don’t binge – 20-30 minutes worth of revision at a time works best
 Revision starts early – i.e. now!
She also looked at how we learn the best, recommended some apps for creating resources and the best revision techniques you can utilise to maximise the outcomes

Miss Booth, Head of Science Faculty, Mrs Selliah, Deputy Head of Maths Faculty and Mr Obamakin, Associate Leader, then delivered a focus
on the best revision sites and support for the core subjects of English, maths and science.
Mrs Blowers then finished by  emphasised the importance of attendance linked to attainment and discussed the
importance of mindfulness and the support available to students.
