The afternoon session, “Search and Apply,” was attended by Year 12 and 13 students during Period 5. This workshop, run by ASK Apprenticeships, provided a comprehensive look at Level 5 and higher-level apprenticeships. Students explored available opportunities, learned effective strategies for securing a placement, and gained valuable tips for the application process. The hands-on nature of the session ensured it was highly interactive and engaging, and students left with newfound knowledge and confidence about their future pathways.
In the evening, parents joined us in the Sixth Form Study Centre for the “Look to Secure an Apprenticeship” event. This session offered guidance on supporting their children through the apprenticeship search and application journey. A highlight of the evening was the participation of a local apprentice, who shared their personal experiences and insights into life as an apprentice. Parents and carers appreciated the chance to ask questions in the Q&A session and enjoyed the refreshments provided.
Both sessions were a great success, with students and families alike finding them informative and inspiring. We hope this experience has helped to open doors and provide a clearer understanding of the incredible opportunities apprenticeships can offer for future careers.
A huge thank you to ASK Apprenticeships for delivering these valuable sessions and to all the students and parents who participated.
