An Exciting Week For Performing Arts
It has been a busy past week for the performing arts staff and students. Last Thursday saw our GCSE and A-level drama students complete their devising examinations. Students were working tirelessly throughout the day to ensure technical and dress rehearsals were complete, adding the final touches to their performances. This followed with a highly engaging performance using techniques inspired by the physical theatre company, Frantic Assembly. Our students produced some very effective emotional moments and delivered a gripping narrative to the audience. This was followed by two equally good but very different GCSE performances. The Reunion delivered its message effectively with an unexpected twist that shocked the audience. The second piece looked at the highly contentious issue of migration to the UK and delivered a clever, sometimes poignant and often humorous take on this issue.
And we did not stop there….

Less than a week later our students entertained the crowd at the annual Bushey Meads Christmas Soiree. It was fantastic to see the musical display on talent and the variety within the show. A big congratulation to all students and the music staff for creating such a wonderful evening of celebration.
