A Typical BMS Friday Morning….
It was a real privilege to join a number of CDC groups last Friday morning and see everyone engaged in our embedded reading programme – starting the day by listening to CDC’s reading extracts from a number of carefully chosen texts to challenge and enhance their students’ understanding of literacy in a real variety of different genres and contexts.
CDCs were reading and explaining key words and contextual concepts behind the texts, students were listening quietly and following along with their bookmarks, highlighting key words as they were explained to the class.
I would like to thank all CDCs for the excellent work they are doing to improve the literacy levels of all students at BMS and all students for continuing to engage so well with the Friday morning activities.
As parents and carers do continue to encourage your children to read widely and often outside of school to further enhance their improving levels of literacy.
