A Rich and Diverse Curriculum

At Bushey Meads we are always looking for exciting ways to further develop our already rich and diverse curriculum which offers a whole range of in-school courses at all levels, as well as many extra-curricular and extended curriculum opportunities to students across all subject areas. To this end, we have a number of very successful partnerships with external providers, including Watford Angling Coaches and, on a weekly basis, several Key Stage 3 students take up this exciting opportunity with great success.

From the pictures below, you can see the obvious success that two students have achieved through this exciting opportunity:

Mitchell commented “I enjoy going fishing, it’s lovely where we go. I was happy when I caught a 7lb Mirror Carp using only a maggot as bait. This week I brought my own special Halibut and Red Krill Boilies to use.”

George commented “I’ve never fished before but I am really enjoying it. The first week I caught a few small Perch about 10cm long. But when I caught my first Carp I was really happy. I find fishing very relaxing and enjoyable.

We are very proud of our students taking up this new extended curriculum opportunity and have been delighted to see how well they are developing their skills in this exciting area. They have also been excellent ambassadors for the school.
