It’s the most wonderful time of the year and here at Bushey Meads, we were getting festive with the year 7 Christmas party.
This is an annual event that is held every year by the Heads of House to warmly welcome the new students and allow them to let loose and have some fun before the holidays.
Once the final lesson had ended on Thursday the 7th December, more than 120 students piled into the changing rooms to don their best threads and many even opted for a festive jumper or hat. They then made their way to the main hall where Christmas music was blaring and the Heads of House were waiting to begin the fun.
A camera and a huge screen had been set up so that the students could see themselves partying. Plenty of treats had been laid on including soft drinks, crisps, cookies, and pastries. Students were able to request their favourite songs to be played through the school’s sound system. It was amazing listening to them all singing together at the top of their lungs, having a great time. We also saw a few dance-offs and there were some impressive skills on display!
But the crowning moment of the afternoon was the now traditional limbo competition which saw students lining up to demonstrate their flexibility. Truly remarkable how low that bar got towards the end. This is always a popular feature and there were plenty of smiles on faces.
The Heads of House want to thank you all for coming and we hope that you all made some great BMS memories; it certainly did seem that way.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
