Successful Year 7 Celebration Evening

It was a real pleasure to attend a very successful Year 7 Celebration Evening on behalf of the Humanities and Social Sciences faculty, Thursday 21st October and to see so many students representing the school in front of their parents and Bushey Meads staff.

The organisation and coordination involved to observe so many students speaking, modelling and in many cases, performing what they have been working on in the first half term of Year 7 was truly outstanding to see, with many students involved on several occasions.

In History, Geography and R.E. students had been producing some excellent work over the 7-week period in anticipation of the evening, and it was great to see so many photos, as well as some very amusing homework video diary projects, warning parents, staff, and students alike about the consequences of not being a ‘good Christian’ in Medieval England.

The entire evening was a great success with the Year 7s being excellent representatives for Bushey Meads School.

A Big thank you to Mr Burley for helping present the evening on behalf of the Humanities Department, Miss Dunsby and Miss Falusi for helping coordinate Geography and R.E. respectively, but also a huge well done to Sabawon Jabarkhail and Sathees Kaneswaran (for speaking on behalf of Geography), Daisy Beeton and Zacharia Ciotau (for speaking on behalf of R.E.) and Ellie-May Hilton and Kit Chester-Canavan (for speaking on behalf of History). Lastly, a huge thank you on behalf of the History Department to Emma Oscai for her excellent video diary presented on the evening.
