Our year 11 Time to Sh9ne group completed their final two sessions in the sixth form centre this week. In Science the students were given advice by Mr Charmokly on the ‘long marker’ questions as well as unpicking common exam errors such as unit conversions, scientific symbols and optimum ordering of responses.
Mr Dawson delivered an English session on Romeo and Juliet and how to make insightful comments about character and their motivations and the first things to include in an answer in regards to context and setting the scene.
These practical tips will specifically help to uplevel exam responses, allowing the students to see from a teachers perspective what distinguishes the level 8 grades from the level 9’s.
This year’s cohort of year 11’s have been an absolute pleasure to teach and we are all wishing them well deserved success in their end of year assessments.
