Safeguarding over the holidays

We would like to take this opportunity to signpost avenues of support should you have an urgent safeguarding concern. These are particularly important to be aware of if you have a concern during the school holidays.

WORRIED ABOUT A CHILD?

It is everybody’s responsibility to keep children and young people safe. If you’re concerned that a child is being abused or neglected you should report it so that the child can be protected.

If you think a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999.

If you have a concern about a child, please call Hertfordshire Children’s Services on 0300 123 4043.

If you’re worried about a child or young person, you can also contact the NSPCC Helpline for support and advice for free – call  0808 800 5000 or contact them online.

Children can contact Childline any time to get support themselves on 0800 1111.

The NSPCC website also has useful information for keeping children safe this festive season.
