Preventing Homelessness & Transforming...

It was great to welcome two of our Sixth Form students Karan and Niteesh to our Staff Briefing on Monday of this week. They were launching an excellent Shoebox Appeal for the Charity New Hope based in Watford; their mantra is Preventing Homelessness, Transforming Lives.

The idea is that each CDC group gets one shoebox and fills it with suitable items as a gift for a Homeless person. The two students also encouraged all staff to consider contributing a box as well. The photo is of the exemplar shoebox Karan showcased in the Staff Briefing. As you can see it contains: a bottle of water, toilet paper, a tin of fruit, a bandage, eye patches and ear plugs (to aid sleeping), shaving gel, moisturiser, a shaving kit, earbuds, shampoo, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a comb, a flannel, some boiled sweets, sugar and a nail file.

It would be amazing if each CDC group, and perhaps any interested parents and carers, could put together one box each. The plan is to stack them neatly on the staff corridor over the next two weeks. See if you can get involved as a family and make a difference this Christmas!
