Positive Feedback for BMS

It is always good to hear positive feedback about our approach to different activities and routines during these challenging times and I would like to thank all the students and parents and carers who have spoken to us and emailed in their support. It does mean a lot to the staff at the school who are working so hard to keep things as ‘normal’ as possible.

Dear Mr Turner,

My wife and I have been very impressed with the way that your team have managed virtual meetings recently. The first was the Parents’ Evening for Year 11; we found the experience to be very slick and gave us the opportunity to talk to each of our son’s teachers without risk of spreading the virus. We then had another separate meeting regarding our son which was conducted over Zoom; again this was a very positive experience and allowed us to have a good meeting without the need to meet in person. We appreciate that it has been a very tough term for all of you at Bushey Meads and are grateful for the work that you have put in to adapt to the current environment allowing the children’s education to carry on with minimal impact.

Many thanks,                                                                              Year 11 Parents

Dear Mr Turner,

I am sending this email a little later than I wanted to, so apologies! I want to thank you and your “Super Amazing Team” at BMS for the Year 11 Parents Evening last week. Like a lot of parents I was worried that I wouldn’t get the BMS experience!. However I was wrong! From the booking system through to the actual online video calls with teachers, it was great. All calls were on time, information from the teachers was concise and helpful. When time was running out all of the teachers said to email them with any concerns and they would get back to me. I am grateful that you and your team put this together in such a great way. So good in fact that I think it should be done like this going forward! No more trying to get parked, no hustling around the hall trying to make sure the teacher has seen you, no awkward “are you next or is it us?” challenges, no other parents listening in on your conversation with the teachers! As far as I am concerned I think it was a resounding success and my husband and I thank you. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you and ALL the staff at BMS for their commitment during these trying times.

Kindest regards
Key Stage 4 Parent

Having spoken to a number of different Headteachers over the past few weeks about the challenges schools are facing this term – balancing all the pressures of maintaining safety, with a continuing emphasis on keeping learning going, along with all the added complexities of staff and student absence during these times, it has made me very grateful for the support of understanding parents, dedicated staff and all the positive and resilient young people in our care.
