Mission to Mars for Year 8
On enrichment day, we had so many talented students at Bushey Meads who rose to the challenge of making a prototype Mars Rover from a limited range of materials. The year 8 STEM challenge never fails to bring out the best in our students. Working in teams, they had 2 hours to build their prototype and try it out on the test track.
Using their many skills including: soldering, cutting and graphic design, the teams overcame many obstacles to create a successful prototype. They say that you learn the most when having fun, so from all the noise and excitement coming from the test area, there was clearly much being achieved and knowledge gained.
Well done to all the students who gave it a try and showed grit and determination.
