MFL Update

On Monday 1st June,  Year 7 and 8 language learners participated in a virtual Mandarin session and learnt how to greet each other in Chinese as well as finding out interesting facts about the Chinese culture. The session was led by a SOAS university Mandarin undergraduate who was very impressed by our students’ engagement and participation. An example of their work is below!

We continue to immerse our students in the culture of the languages they are learning and the recent Eiffel Tower building and paella making competitions are testament to this!

Virtual classrooms are a fun way of enabling our students to learn. They simply click on links that take them, for example, to dictionaries, audio books and even Duolingo! (Please try Duolingo  if you are keen to practise a language or learn a new one.)

Genially is another fabulous resource recently discovered and tried out by MFL teachers and students. It brings content to life. Just click on the link below!

Therefore, even in lockdown, our students are continuing to learn interactively and make enriching virtual journeys that enable them to experience a host of diverse cultures!
