From now until the end of this term, we are very privileged to have Mr Abusef, an assistant headteacher from Falconer School aspiring to become a headteacher, with us to support with a project that we hope will help us identify our strengths and areas for development in terms of our delivery to Year 7 as they transition from primary school. In particular, Mr Abusef is investigating the academic delivery of Maths and English and looking for opportunities for greater synergy between primary and secondary delivery. Whilst we get excellent results in Maths and English, we are not a school that is happy to settle. We continue to look forward and continuously improve, so Mr Abusef’s work with us is very welcome and appreciated.
This week, Year 9 students have been completing a survey for Mr Abusef, to gain an insight into the learning journey they have had. In their CDC groups and with the support of our outstanding IT team, the students completed the survey in our learning hub and we are very much looking forward to seeing the results.
As part of his project, Mr Abusef has many other tasks and activities to complete, including a parental survey, lesson observations, student interviews and meetings with key staff in the school. The key findings from the project will then be presented to the Senior Leadership Team and some Governors for us to consider next steps.
This is just another example of our school seizing opportunities to embed greatness.
