This core value at Bushey Meads School was the important topic and theme of the main school assemblies this week led by our Head of Standards, Safeguarding and SEND, Mrs Ash. She reminded all students of the power of a Growth Mindset that positively embraces new learning and challenges and doesn’t shy away from stepping out of our comfort zone. It all starts with little steps, made daily towards those final goals of great GCSE grades, gaining a place in our outstanding Sixth Form, moving on to bright futures at University, Higher Level Apprenticeships or long lasting careers; little acorns can become towering oak trees.
She also highlighted some inspirational figures who demonstrated a growth mindset and achieved great things, despite their humble beginnings and the challenges they faced along the way. Michelle Obama was perhaps the most powerful example provided. If all students demonstrate a growth mindset, AtL of 6+ and aim for 100% attendance, growth will take place and success will come.  It’s as simple as that.
