Getting Back on Track – Year 10 and...

In their second week of ‘getting back on track’, our Year 10 students continue to make us proud by catching up with remote learning that proved to be very difficult to complete at home.  The students have become accustomed to the new ways in school and are doing very well in terms of completing work whilst adhering to all of the hygiene and safety requirements that have been asked of them in light of the current climate we are in.  Under the guidance, care and leadership of our KS4 Pastoral Manager, Mrs Blowers, the students have successfully come in from 9am to 3pm each day and even though I’m sure there is a small excusable amount of downtime, there is definitely a significant amount of time spent on learning which all the students have admitted would be very unlikely to have happened had they remained at home.

Many of the students have really enjoyed seeing their friends and teachers again and these sessions have provided them with a sense of normality again.
As we widen our provision and help various groups to ‘get back on track’, this was the first week of having some of our Year 11 students in school.  Arguably the most affected group (no exams due to Covid-19), it has been inspiring to see some of our students coming in to get a taste of our outstanding Sixth Form facilities and very impressively, all dressed in business wear!  The students really looked professional and they all worked diligently completing tasks set by their teachers in preparation for their KS5 studies.
Well done to you all!
