Fundraising for Dementia UK
I would like to congratulate Millie Andronicou and her younger sisters, Madeline and Grace, for their fantastic hard work and dedication in raising £123.17 for Dementia UK.  I have to say there was a new level of genius for whoever invented the Percy Pig Blondie cake!
It is worth remembering that a lot of our students find themselves faced with the fragility of life as they go through secondary school and they are more likely to understand the impact on not only those suffering illness, but on the loved ones around them.
In the case of dementia it can often be so much harder on those loved ones and carers and it is such a difficult thing to understand and explain to children and young people.  Below are links to support and advice if you are facing similar struggles:
There is support available in school.  Your child’s character development coach can offer support and a daily friendly face.  We also have the whole pastoral team, including our 2 school counselors, Mrs Mateides and Ms Hogg.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if your family needs some additional support.  Whilst we have some amazingly strong students who are more than ready to cope with supporting a loved one, a little extra help at times can make a big difference.
