Dance Department Awards: Summer 1

The Dance Department’s Student Awards were created to award students from all years and key stages for their commitments, efforts, improvements and successes at the end of every half term. The winners are rewarded with an R4, postcard home and placed on the Dance Student Award display board which is located in the Dance office and pictured below.

The Summer term 1 winners are….

‘Best Student Homework’ award this term has been divided between Latika Sureshkumar (7E) and Natalie Douglas (7S) for their brilliant work based on Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s professional work, Sutra where both students discussed the piece as having a “mesmerising mix of martial arts, contemporary dance and sculptures”. Well done to both for these impressive pieces of work you can see pictured below.

‘Most Improved Dancer‘ awards have been awarded to:

  • Abbasali Muraj (7A)
  • Gracie Michaelson (8B)
  • Nadine Parmenter (9W)

‘Outstanding Dancer’ awards are presented to one student from each key stage. Congratulations to the following students:

  • Angelina Leung (7B) – Key Stage 3
  • Farah Maddocks (11B) – Key Stage 4
  • Csenge Szabo (12A) – Key Stage 5

Well done to all the award winners. Keep up the brilliant work!

Want to win a Dance Department Award?
The Dance ‘Are You Up For The Challenge?’ tasks are on display in the hall to help challenge and further develop your progress. Choose either a dance style or choreographer from the pockets and complete the tasks set.

By handing in an ‘Are You Up For The Challenge?’ task, you could be in line to win one of the Dance Department’s Student Awards next term!

For now, have a lovely half term and we’ll see you back for the final term of the year!
