As we near the end of the academic school year we can reflect on the many achievements of the anti-bullying ambassadors. Although they were unable to fulfill all their plans they still managed to raise awareness of Bullying, and how it can affect people’s lives.
The big fundraiser in November meant they were able to give cheques of £58.00 each, to both Bullying Uk and Herts Young Homeless and include the whole school in various activities like the poster competition and school survey. They also had the opportunity to talk to students about their experiences of bullying.
Dylan Hilton 11S has been an anti-bullying ambassador for 3 years. When asked what it was like in this role he said:
“ To be Anti-bullying ambassador, is to be someone that students can come to discuss concerns or personal problems they might be having in or outside of school. This allows students to feel more comfortable talking to someone their age or sympathies better with their situation. An Anti-bullying ambassador has to be understanding, a good listener and effective at communicating.”
Megan Hilton 07S joined the team this year. She said:
“My experience of being an anti bullying ambassador is that it’s great helping other people that need someone to talk to about their problems with other students . Hope to carry on my role as an Anti bullying ambassador next year”.
Their generosity and kindness continues even in Lockdown.
Alayna Chaudhrya 07E also joined this year and won first prize in our poster competition. She told us:
“Lockdown so far has been fun and not too boring because me and my family have been shopping for my grandparents and we have been doing lots of gardening… We also baked cakes for our grandparents”.
