Amazing Year 7 Curriculum Evening!
It was an amazing end to the first half term at Bushey Meads School for our wonderful Year 7 cohort, seeing their superb work on display in the School Restaurant and hearing them present so eloquently from the Main Stage, outlining to parents and carers a summary of all their learning that has taken place so far this year.

They were full of enthusiasm and passion for the school and demonstrated this through superb live performances on stage across a range of subjects including drama, English, music, dance, French and Spanish.

The students who spoke on stage were superb ambassadors for the school, confidently explaining about all the learning that had taken place this term. It made some of the older members of the audience wish that we had gone to an amazing school like Bushey Meads when we were younger as they were so enthusiastic about what they had achieved; it was inspiring to see.

Great French Demonstration!

So many parents commented on how proud they were of their confident and articulate children who are already beginning to shine in our brilliant school.
The audience loved the live drama performances performed at the Year 7 Celebration Evening. Confident actors presenting great original theatre had the audience laughing and enjoying the moment; it was impressive to see.
As Senior Assistant Headteacher Mr Searle said at the end of the evening they are clearly an “amazing group of young people who are destined for great things”; we look forward to celebrating their success year on year as they progress through the school.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house during the two amazing last musical performances of the evening seeing nearly 200 young people singing their hearts out and playing their musical instruments to such a high level in the musical accompaniment.

A huge thank you goes to all the Year 7 teachers who this term have certainly ‘lit some fires’ in our Year 7 students’ lives and ignited a real passion and enthusiasm for learning.

The audience were literally stunned by the quality of all the English work that had taken place in inspirational classrooms this term. Archie read out an extract form his creative writing which epitomised the high level of attainment that so many of our Year 7 students have achieved.

A fitting conclusion to a wonderful evening celebrating all our Year 7 students amazing achievements this half term.
