Aiming to Repair and Restore!
Advanced Lead Teacher Mr Godfrey provided an excellent Friday Faculty Foci at the end of last week in our Staff Briefing meeting in the Main Hall and shared some superb best practice about how to conduct repair and restore meetings with students.
As with any busy comprehensive school, sometimes students make the wrong choices in their learning but to move things forward in a positive way, and in line with our ethos of inclusivity and kindness, we are always looking to restore and repair things for the better. Fundamentally it is about helping students realise the impact of their actions on themselves and others around them.
It was a really helpful reminder to staff and is backed up by Mr Godfrey’s experience over many years in a number of different schools in the local area. Many staff are benefitting from this more therapeutic approach to resolving things that go wrong and we appreciated his wisdom and experience in the room.
