Mr Back kicks off assemblies on hopes and...

Our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at Bushey Meads is a real hub of the school for learning. Managed by our outstanding LRC Manager Mr Back, students in Year 7 and 8 experience high quality and focussed literacy lessons that underpin their learning across all subjects areas and help to foster a love of reading which stays with them throughout their time at the school. Many students complete outstanding book reviews each and every week and hundreds of students over the last few years have quite rightly earned a prestigious place on one of Mr Back’s inspiring reward trips to the Harry Potter Museum.

This week we were privileged to be reminded in our Main School Assemblies by Mr Back of the wealth of opportunities available to all our students and the wonderful resource that the LRC has become; a welcoming, well designed and inspiring environment for learning, with access to state of the art technology and a huge array of books, learning resources and past papers to support all our students in their studies throughout their time at Bushey Meads.

Don’t forget to access the LRC before school, at break and lunchtime and after school.

Year 11s and Sixth Formers look out for the Study Wednesday Lunchtimes and Study Saturdays that Mr Back arranges to support you all in the months preceding your all important public examinations which take place later in the year. They have had a real impact in raising results for GCSE and A level students alike.

Thank you Mr Back for your inspiration and for all that you have brought to the school – it is much appreciated by us all. You remind us of the hope and belief that we can all have as we work towards achieving our dreams.
