Last Week’s Friday Faculty Foci
We are incredibly fortunate to have a fantastic team of top teachers at Bushey Meads who form an inspiring Teaching and Learning Team at the school. Composed of Lead Practitioners and Advanced Lead Teachers, they publish articles and termly newsletters, regularly share top tips about teaching, support colleagues as required with their planning of lessons, observe colleagues in a supportive manner and provide useful feedback, contribute to the comprehensive professional development programme for staff training at the school, are regularly observed by other teachers and support colleagues in their classrooms across the school as needed.
One of our Advanced Lead Teachers Mr Godfrey led the Friday Faculty Foci last week and gave some superb ideas as to how to strengthen our positive culture of restorative approaches even when things go slightly wrong and students are in the setting of a detention. His approach – tried and tested over the last 15 years, helps to turn a positive into a negative and gives the students and staff an opportunity to restore that all-important positive relationship in the classroom and reflect on how things could be different moving forward.
We continue to thank the Teaching and Learning Team for their hugely important contributions they make across our learning community here at BMS.
