Our More Able agenda took centre stage this week, with a multitude of activities taking place across the school with a focus on this year’s theme of Flair.
The Business Studies department embraced this opportunity to provide as many enriching experiences to students as possible.
It was a pleasure to bring three entrepreneurs into the classroom (remotely) and provide students across all business classes with an opportunity to ask them questions.
The guests were Hannan Malik, founder of Nowherenear Group – a talent management agency that partners with creators to help tell stories. Successes include hits with Little Mix, Kygo, The Chainsmokers and a recent UK and US #1 with Lewis Capaldi.
YouTuber, creative consultant and trendsetter, Sangiev Srikskumar talks about what it takes to be a successful influencer and entrepreneur. Sangiev has harnessed his social media presence to successfully launch his own fashion collection. And last but by no means least Saher Bhatti, Founder of Lawful London which provides ethical, minimal, practical essentials for the modern woman. Saher has created a vibrant and fresh brand and has been featured in Forbes, Elle and Vogue magazines to name a few!
Students prepared questions to ask the entrepreneurs ahead of the interviews. The entrepreneurs were very impressed with the questions and provided excellent responses.
The key themes that came through each of the interviews was the persistence, resilience and belief are all key to success not only in business but life in general. Students were inspired by these words of wisdom and enjoyed the experience.
I would like to thank all three for taking the time out of their busy schedules to speak with our students and provide them with this enriching experience during Flair week.
In addition students had many other activities to explore and demonstrate Flair in Business Studies.
Students prepared activities to deliver to their classmates, these included starters, Kahoots, current affairs based activities and revision presentations.
