May the force be with you

Year 10 D&T students have been working on their 3D CAD skills this week. Using an online CAD drawing program called TINKERCAD, the students have developed their skills through a lightsaber design challenge.

“Lightsabers. The weapon of a Jedi knight. An elegant weapon for a more civilized time. The most efficient limb-removal device in the galaxy!” – put this quote with the photo of luke skywalker

Through this challenge, the students developed many useful skills that will allow them to quickly create design ideas that can be developed into physical models using the new 3D printers in C6 and C9.

Research challenge:

How does a lightsaber work? Submit your answers to Mr Chalkley for reward points!

“Do. Or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda
