Supracurriculum

Over the past few months our supracurriculum resources have been growing and with KS4 and 5 looking to the future becoming even more relevant to our extra-curricular provision. Supracurricular activities are things that you do to extend and deepen your knowledge of any subject whether it is studied or something that interests you.

These activities include reading books or magazines that extend your understanding and analytical skills on a topic, following media stories that concern developments in a subject that you’re studying, or watching a film based on a novel, play or historical event that you’re studying. We have seven online magazines including the Law Review Magazine and Archives and the Economic emagazine, all of which are well used by students and have received positive comments from interested families and students alike!

Additionally, there are thirty-one books ranging from ‘Fermat’s Last Theroem’ to ‘The Sagas of the Icelander’ and, five MfL specific texts for which there is a waiting list, for example ‘No et moi (Littérature)’ (French) and ‘Como agua para chocolate’ (Spanish). Our supracurriculum is growing into a considerable resource that as well as students a number of subject teachers are also sharing inspiring articles to stimulate discussions during online lessons and can provide log-in details where required.
