Outstanding Outdoor Education Opportunities
On Enrichment Day last week it was a cold day but the sun was shining through the blue skies overlooking our expanding outdoor education provision at Bushey Meads. The day was starting with cooking on the open fire pit making bacon butties and hot chocolate to ensure enough energy was provided to last the students through the day.
The student-made pond is now filling up with water and the students are monitoring it for any sign of pond life – watching its development into an interesting eco-system in the woodland area where our outdoor provision is based.
In the Ed-Shed other students were working hard to make bat boxes to complement the hedgehog boxes, bird boxes and bug hotels being placed around all areas of our site. Eco-friendly opportunities are underpinning a lot of the learning that is taking place in this key area of our school curriculum. A big thank you to the amazing staff who oversee this aspect of our curriculum and congratulations to all the students who are constantly developing the provision and enhancing their skills.
