Monday Magic Moment
Mr Chalkley, our dedicated and hardworking Head of Faculty for Design and Technology led the Monday Magic Moment for all staff at the start of this week and he talked about how Assessment for Learning provides those all-important building blocks for children to achieve great success.
Using the powerful analogy of a wall he reminded staff that if the layers or some of the blocks are missing the wall is unstable.
Marking and assessing work, providing information and next steps to bridge or fill the gaps, leads to greater progress and achievement. That is assessment for learning and something we want to develop even further as a powerful strategy for ensuring all students make great progress at Bushey Meads School.
As parents and carers do make sure your children respond to all teacher feedback provided and take those next steps in the journey of learning.
