Recently, 18 Year 12 and Year 13 Biology students participated in the British Biology Olympiad, a prestigious national annual competition for A-Level students. The British Biology Olympiad tests students’ knowledge and understanding of biology. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to challenge themselves and develop their skills beyond the curriculum. This year, both Year 12 and Year 13 students participated, and we were pleased to see such a strong representation from the school.
Out of the 18 students who participated, six were commended or highly commended and awarded a certificate. This is a great result, and we would like to congratulate these students on their success. The certificate is a testament to their knowledge and dedication to the study of biology.
In addition to the commendations, a further four students received a Bronze certificate. This included Andrea, Vritika and Colm in Year 13, and Alex in Y12. The Bronze certificate is a fantastic achievement and recognises the students’ aptitude and understanding of biology.
Taking part in the British Biology Olympiad is a great way for our students to showcase their talents and skills. It is also an excellent opportunity to prepare for university studies in biology and related fields. We are confident that the experience will inspire our students to continue their studies and further pursue their interest in the subject.
Finally, I would like to thank all the students who participated in the British Biology Olympiad this year. I look forward to seeing more of our students take part in the competition in the future.
