SAM Learning is an online learning platform that will aid your understanding. Studies have shown that students who use SAM Learning for 10 hours or more are likely to achieve 1 GCSE grade better in 2 subjects as well as a +0.20 increase in their Progress 8 score (you will make more progress between Years 7-11). For these reasons, Bushey Meads subscribes to SAM Learning each year for the benefit of all of our students.
The ‘BMS SAM Learning 10 Hour Challenge’ starts today and there are some great prizes to be won. During the three week period between Monday 4th January and Monday 25th January, students have to complete 10 hours of study on SAM Learning – although you do not need to limit your usage to 10 hours. You have the opportunity to find your own tasks to do based on the subjects you choose to work on.
If you completed one hour per day over the course of the three weeks, you would accumulate 21 hours. If you completed just one hour per day between Monday to Friday for one of the remote learning weeks and one week once back at school, you would accumulate the 10 hours with very little effort.
The learning and knowledge gained is the biggest reward of course, however, to add a bit of an extra incentive there are five £20 Amazon vouchers up for grabs (one for each year group)!
The prize structure is as follows:
- 2 task hours completed – R1
- 5 task hours completed – R2
- 10 task hours completed – R3, Bronze Certificate and 1 entry into your year group prize draw for a £20 Amazon Voucher
- 15 task hours completed – R4, Silver Certificate and 3 entries into your year group prize draw for a £20 Amazon Voucher
- 20 task hours completed – R5, Gold Certificate and 5 entries into your year group prize draw for a £20 Amazon Voucher
- Best Character Development Group in each year – Certificate, Chocolates and SAM Learning trophy!
